Mini Soccer - Yellowknife Summer Camps
Each summer for approximately six (6) weeks, the NWT Soccer Association hosts six (6) week-long, half-day camps for youth aged 5-8 and 9-12. Registration is through the City of Yellowknife's "Community Services" department and can be contacted at 867-920-5600. Click here for program details.
These camps are run by experienced athletes who have gone through an application process for the Head Instructor and Assistant Instructor positions. This is one way in which our knowledgeable athletes can give back to their community and get the hands-on experience and perspective of being a coach. The positions pay a generous wage to assist our athletes in their educational and athletic endeavours.
Students interested in applying for this exciting summer position or groups interested in running the summer camps should apply by FEBRUARY 28, 2010 to Vivian Hansen at 873-2270. It is expected that the Camp organizer and Head Instructor will use the following guidance document created by the NWT Soccer Association which outlines all of the considerations necessary to run an effective program.
Expectations for individuals or groups interested in runing the YK City Summer Soccer Camps
