Sport North Federation is now accepting the 2013 Rising Star Applications.The Rising Star program provides funding to athletes (Females 11-15 & Males 12-16) that exhibit high performance potential in their sport and wish to receive additional training through a camp format. Applicants must be nominated by a coach, teacher, principal, pastor, RCMP officer etc. Nominators must submit the application on behalf of the athlete.

Sport North scholarships encourage academic success for NWT students that are engaged in sport activities. If you have already completed a year of post secondary school you are eligible to apply. Visit sportnorth.com for more details. Deadline: TBA
Canadian Tire Jumpstart helps disadvantaged kids get involved in organized sport and recreation by covering the costs of registration, equipment and/or transportation. Their goal is to help those children that would not be able to participate in a physical activity wihtout the assistance of the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program.
Parents/Guardians can apply for children aged 4-18.
The program is open to individual chidlren, not groups or teams.
Funding is availabe for mutiple childrenw ithin the same family for the same reason.
Funds are awarded for registration fees, equipment and/or transporation costs.
Grants are available for up to $300 per child per application.
Funding is available for any sustained program that lasts a season.
Funding must be for on-going acitivies or programs.

KidSport™ is designed to assist children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in community sport programs. The KidSport goal is to provide these children with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of teamwork, dedication and responsibility through participation in sport.
All money raised in the NWT stays in the NWT. KidSport ensures that 100% of donations and fundraising proceeds are directed to children, unless specifically fundraised for operations. All applications are screened by the KidSport Committee to ensure the financial need and legitimacy of the applicant. KidSport policies require that at least one of the following individuals endorse the application: a school teacher or principal; a professional in social work or family services; law enforcement officer; clergy member; recreation administrator; community councilor or staff.
Funds raised are directed in the form of grants to individual children. Grants of up to $300 are available to children up to the age of eighteen. Funding can be used to assist with sport registration fees, equipment and travel.

The N7 fund provides product donations and grants to Native American and Aboriginal communities in support of sports and physical activity programs for youth.
