History
The YK Diamond Drillers are the first female soccer club team representing Yellowknife - girls between the ages of 9 to 18 years of age. The Drillers began in September 2004 with our first trip to Mill woods in Edmonton. We have continued to train in both indoor and outdoor soccer over the past six years.
Mike Doyle has continued in the role of coach for all these years. Vivian Hansen has remained faithful to the team as the manager.
Many of our original Drillers are graduating from high school this year which means we will be a smaller group of girls but hope to see some fresh legs join our team. The Senior Drillers leaving this summer will be missed greatly by those of us "left behind" however we know that the new, upcoming players will find a place on either team and will see great success with this sport we all love greatly.
