Program Objectives
The Yellowknife Bay Soccer Club (nicknamed the "Sundogs") is a youth soccer club. Although not exclusive, the YBSC is focused on developing soccer and providing playing opportunities for kids in the Old Town and Niven Lake areas of Yellowknife. The YBSC supports the idea of Yellowknife having a multiple soccer club system. The development of soccer in Yellowknife would be enhanced through the development of multiple clubs which can play against each other.
YBSC operates on a yearly cycle starting each October. For the Winter 2011/12 session (October 2010 to April 2011), YBSC will be running 6 groups:
- U-10 girls and boys (birth years 2002 and 2003)
- U-8 girls and boys (birth years 2004 and 2005)
- U-6 girls and boys (birth years 2006 and 2007).
The U-10, U-8 and U-6 designations are based on birth years for 2012 age divisions.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PLAYERS!! WE HAVE OPENINGS FOR 2002 TO 2007 GIRLS AND FOR 2002 TO 2005 BOYS. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU WANT MORE INFORMATION.
UPDATE: OUR REMAINING OPENINGS ARE FOR 2004 AND 2005 GIRLS AND FOR 2002, 2003 AND 2004 BOYS. FOR OTHER GROUPS WE ARE NOW STARTING WAIT LISTS.
Over the long-term, the YBSC intends to grow by adding higher age groups (U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18) to eventually become a full youth club for all age categories from U-6 to U-18.
Schedule for Practices
For the Winter 2011/12 session, practices will be held in the Fieldhouse. Practice times are all 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. as follows: U-6 girls and boys on Mondays, U-8 girls and boys on Tuesdays and U-10 girls and boys on Wednesdays. The complete schedule is in the following table.

The U-6 and U-8 practices will be on the Trinity Helicopters Field. The U-10 practices will use both the Trinity Helicopters Field and Field #1.
