Fury for 2010 - 2011 season is taking on a fresh new approach. Three teams will start this year U12, U14, and U16. As you learn and progress in your development of the game, you now will have a chance to keep on growing by changing to a new level every other year based on your year of birth.
For the first time in Yellowknife's history, soccer players and other sports will be enjoying a brand new two field facility with indoor turf compatible to a host of field sports. Of course this is soccer's field of choice especially during the winter, which Yellowknife has lots of. The facility officially opens at the beginning of September. Fury has made the new facility its home for all Fury team practises and games.
Starting this fall, players wishing to play on a Fury U12, 14, and U16 team will be required to attend an evaluation camp. During this camp all player candidates will try hard to impress the coaches with thier fitness level, great attitudes, soccer skills and of course their love of the sport. As we can only take 20 players per team, the top twently will be selected to be part of the Fury Club for the next six months.
Fury fall and winter training season is October through to March. Players will receive two practises a week plus a game or fitness situation on the weekend. Following the March Spring Break players will again be evaluated at another camp for selection into the spring and summer sessions of soccer developmental training which will include tournament travel.
Fury Soccer as a part of Yellowknife and the North has lots to brag about and more to say. Check out the following web pages on this site:

Parents, if you have a son ready to play soccer then here is how your son can join the Fury Soccer Club.
1) Know what age group your son will be eligible for. For the 2010-2011 season Fury is only providing developmental training for the following age groups:
2) Ask your son how much he wants to play soccer this coming year. Is he committed to attending 95% or more sessions? Is he committed to having a positive attitude at all times? Does your son want to learn how to play the real game of soccer where the focus on outdoors, no walls, lots of running, team skills, etc?
3) Parents are you committed to your son's development by contributing your time to help the team and Club when called upon? Believe it or not, your participation will be vital to how successful your son's program will be.
4) Now...fill out the Yellowknife Fury Evaluation Camp registration form. Players do not automatically go on teams they are required to take part in a pre-season evaluation camp. This is not new and clubs everywhere pre-determine the team player makeup by evaluating for skills, fitness, attitude, committment and much more. Evaluation camps will choose at the end 20 players who the coaches feel want to learn and have what it takes to go through the next six months of training.
5) Finally, those selected at the evaluation camps will be the teams that will practise at least twice a week and end with a game on the weekend. Players and parents will complete a final registration form with proof of age and provide a payment for the registration fee.
